10 Warning Signs of a Bad Health
It is entirely possible to be sick without feeling any pain. Although you may look healthy, be on the lookout for external signs and monitor your body for the slightest hint of illness. Here are some symptoms that can be alarming.
1) You Have Yellow or Red Eyes
The sclera (white of the eyes) should remain white. If it is yellowish, it means that you have a liver problem or that you have jaundice. If it is red, it could be due to a virus or high blood pressure.
2) Color and Odor of Urine
Going to the bathroom in the morning can reveal more than just signs of inflammation or pregnancy. In fact, our urine contains about 70% of markers that can detect disease. The color and odor of urine are essential indicators of health. Darker urine color may indicate dehydration or kidney dysfunction (the kidneys’ function is to cleanse the blood of harmful toxins).
3) Chapped Lips
If you experience dry lips in winter, it’s because your body temperature is too low, and it’s normal. However, if this happens outside the winter season, keep an eye on your health. This may indicate that you have a fungal infection or vitamin B and zinc deficiency.
4) Your Feet Are Cold
If your feet are cold, it means that your blood isn’t circulating as it should in the body. For instance, poor circulation may be due to the heart not functioning correctly.
5) Inflammation and Bleeding of the Gums
If your gums are inflamed or bleed when you brush, there is a good chance that you have gum disease or diabetes. People with diabetes have a higher risk of developing gum disease than those without diabetes. Developing gum disease is the result of a bacterial infection. The mucous membranes can be sensitive to certain bacteria or microorganisms in the oral cavity. Good oral hygiene does not necessarily rhyme with good gum resistance (it only reduces complications in infection).
6) When the Face Turns Red
It is entirely normal to have a red face after eating spicy foods or after a hot flush. However, if only part of the face turns red, such as the cheeks, this may indicate rosacea, a skin condition that is only noticed at a very advanced stage and which results in occasional redness on the forehead, cheeks, chin, or nose.
7) The Nails
Nails are a sign of health. If they break easily or their shape and color change, you have a vitamin deficiency. See a doctor if you have any doubts.
8) Variations In Weight
Weight gain or loss is a phenomenon that affects most people, without exception. It is linked to diet, lifestyle, stress, etc. But a sudden weight gain should not be underestimated. If you gain a lot of weight in a short time, it can be a sign of hormonal imbalance or problems with the thyroid gland, water retention, or heart and kidney issues. The same applies to sudden weight loss.
9) A Swollen Neck
The neck, that part of our body that rarely causes us any worries, says a lot about our health state. For instance, a swollen neck is a sign of thyroid dysfunction related to heart problems or a stressful lifestyle.
10) White Hair Before 40
If you are young, it is not normal to have a few white hairs. This means that you may lack copper (found in potatoes, dried fruit, avocados, cocoa, mushrooms). It is also possible that your body has excess salt or that your liver and gallbladder are disturbed. A bad diet and negative emotions such as anger affect these two organs.
If you experience any of these signs and have any doubts, do not hesitate to consult your doctor for a more thorough examination!
